Operation nursery continued...

After lots of brainstorming with hubby, the elephant idea went out the window.  Instead we decided on this:

We finished painting the walls last nights (will give you a sneak peak now), only the ceiling, doors and frames remain.  Then we have to decided what to do with lighting as its really bad in the room.

We are doing one wall darker than the other, and I'm really surprised how it turned out.  Even hubby is in love with it after he didn't think it would look very good.

As for little baby Olivier, he is doing very well and he is super busy!  I fall in love with him more and more every time I feel him move.  He is such a dream come true and I cannot say thank you enough to our Heavenly Father!  We also decided to do a wall vinyl with a scripture that is so relevant in more than one ways, here it is in English although we are doing the Afrikaans version:

And last but not least, here is our little angel:

Operation name and nursery

At our last scan if was confirmed that baby Olivier is indeed a little boy and not a little girl like first suspected.  That was a shocker as we really did think we are having a little girl!  All of a sudden the name and nursery theme disappeared and we have to put our thinking caps on again.

The nursery is a head ache, I have so many ideas but so scared my ideas won't look good in the end.  I want a picture perfect nursery, not a over the top and packed to the brim one.  This is the theme I like the most so far:

Problem with the elephants is that the lady doing my bedding doesn't have this embroidery design (so does no one else it seems) and I cannot find the design to buy.  I'm thinking of taking this to someone local and asking them to create the design for me and hopefully it won't cost me an arm and leg!

So what do you think of the theme?

16 weeks!

I've set myself little milestones unconsciously to get to in the pregnancy, and once I reach them I feel really good, even more excited.  16 weeks was one of the milestones, I feel so excited to be at the 4 month mark!  This is really happening, its not a dream!

2 weeks ago we had a bit of stress and decided to go for a scan, baby was doing so well and the gynae said he is putting his money on a girl.  Sounds really confident but I want to see the proof before I start buying pink.  Hopefully on Friday this little Easter bunny is playing along and will show what we want to see!

The moment the gender is confirmed, its operation nursery!  I've had so many ideas but I realized I will have to cut down or I'm going to have a very busy and unpractical room.  We have decided on something very simple and soft.  I will take pics of the room before, in progress and after and share it here.

We have also decided on a name, but will only "announce" it once we know for sure if its a girl.

That is it for now!  Will try and update next week on our 16 week scan!

Boy or Girl?

I find myself almost obsessing these last week about the baby being a girl or boy.  I don't know how some people can wait till the baby is born before they find out, I will go out of my mind.  In all honesty I don't want a green or yellow or beige or whatever neutral colour room.  I want it with a touch of pink or a touch of blue?  Not overpowering but just enough to say if its a boy or girls room.

3 weeks and 2 days until we hopefully find out.  Just hope baby plays along!  My one friend only found out at 27 weeks, I'll go crazy if I have to wait that long!

Other news, went for our 12 week scan last week.  Baby is really doing well and was using mommies uterus as a jumping castle.  Was actually kind of cute seeing the little legs bend and then jump up and down.  Nasal bone and neck fold looking good.  Baby is now 66.1mm and heartbeat was 158bpm.

And last but not least - my bump at 13 weeks:

12 weeks!

Blame the porridge brain for not blogging, because I really honestly forgot!

We made the 12 week mark!  One side time has been dragging other side its been flying!  Only 3 more sleeps till we see our little peanut again!  I've been having a little bit more difficult time this pregnancy round, back ache every day, morning sickness was worse, horrible taste in my mouth and some sort of hip joint muscle pain.  But even though everything, I'm really enjoying being pregnant.  I can't wait to feel the little flutters - think it will feel more real then.

Here is my little bump, was expecting to show a lot sooner this time but I'm sure I'm going to "pop" really soon! ; ) (Please excuse the pj's)

Isn't our little peanut gorgeous???  He he, still just look like a smudge but a gorgeous one!

Went to the gynae for our first scan on 26 April.  Was so nervous and excited all at once.  When the gynae found the heartbeat I was so relieved I started crying.  123bpm!

Have another scan tomorrow, decided to do two weekly scans till about 12 weeks just for peace of mind.  Although this little peanut is making mommy feel horrible some days so I know everything is fine!

This year is really the year of miracle babies!

Weigh Less Cancelled...

Due to a little surprise... *insert huge smile*

Went to a new gynae three weeks ago and he gave me Inofolic and Utrogestan and had my thyroid tested again (results on this was VERY low).  Told Nicky end of last week I feel out because of my thyroid.  The Utrogestan also made me feel very bloated and I had horrible cramps, so I didn't for one moment think pregnancy.

I'm 4 weeks 3 days today, early days but my beta levels is looking really good - 15dpo 256 and 17dpo 674. This little Easter bunny is going to stick, we just know it.  We feel so positive and can't wait for our first scan - if I can get an appointment because the gynae is on leave and his receptionist only answers when they want to.  Sigh, Murphy right?

Will post regularly on little Easter bunny's progress!
